CancerCare wins award for acting on views of young people
Posted: 29th April 2019Listening to young people and acting on their ideas has earned CancerCare North Lancashire and South Cumbria a special award. The charity has won an ‘Investing in Children’ award for its pioneering work with young people. Young people who are part of CancerCare’s ‘Refresh’ youth project met with Eleanor Seed from Investing in Children (IiC). Eleanor, a project manager with IiC, was so impressed with the work that the young people and CancerCare had done that she gave the charity the Investing in Children award that same day.

Digital Pioneers Scheme

Avoiding Admissions – The Together Workshops
Posted: 29th April 2019We are delighted that delivery has now commenced for the Together Workshops across Lancashire and South Cumbria. Co-produced with families across the Integrated Care System (ICS), successful workshops have been delivered by The Birchwood Centre in West Lancashire and Walney Community Trust in Barrow-in-Furness. 22 people attended, supporting a number of young people to manage their daily mental health challenges.

The redesign of CAMHS services for children and adolescents aged 0-19
Posted: 29th April 2019NHS funded providers of young people’s emotional health and wellbeing services across Lancashire and South Cumbria are continuing to work together to redesign services for children and adolescents aged 0-19 in line with the THRIVE conceptual model, and in response to a commissioning mandate to develop sustainable and standardised care.

AMBIT training now available from our own trained instructors
Posted: 29th April 201933 front line practitioners have now been trained as AMBIT instructors across Lancashire and South Cumbria. The five day instructor training was provided by the Anna Freud Centre and every practitioner trained has committed to provide four training sessions for other frontline staff during the year.
