NHS England funding
Posted: 31st October 2018Funding has been approved from NHS England to implement specialist trauma informed clinical and safeguarding supervision in the Lancashire Youth Offending Teams (LYOT). This will benefit young people who are at most risk of receiving a custodial sentence.

Redesign of CYP services for mental health and emotional wellbeing
Posted: 31st October 2018Following on from the first phase of co-production around the redesign of child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS), an evaluation session was held on Thursday 6 September at Moor Lane Mills in Lancaster. A presentation was given from the Care Partnership team to members of the evaluation panels about the proposed new model of care.

The Cove at Lancashire Care Trust
Posted: 31st October 2018The Cove is an 18 bedded Tier 4 CAMHS unit operated by Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust. Situated in Heysham, The Cove covers clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) in South Cumbria and Lancashire. Following a merger of two highly-accredited services (ages 13-16 and ages 16-18) in May 2017, the team have worked very hard to improve clinical care and the environment for all of the young people and their families who use the service.

Training Gap Analysis
Posted: 31st October 2018A training gap analysis was undertaken with staff from the main four CAMHS providers in Lancashire and South Cumbria to identify training needs. Evidence highlighted autism, attention deficit hyperactive disorder, learning disabilities, vulnerable children and sexual exploitation to be the main areas for learning. Staff were directed to the free MindEd resource to access learning courses to support their knowledge and understanding.

School pupils put their mobiles to good use
Posted: 23rd July 2018Healthier Lancashire and South Cumbria has rolled out an education programme, Digital Healthy Schools, for more than one thousand pupils in twenty secondary schools across the region. Through assemblies and hands-on workshops, pupils are encouraged to learn more about health conditions whilst exploring the topic of app development and app reviews in PHSE and science lessons.
